Introduction
Hello friends. This Privacy Policy explains how Mortal Technology, LLC (“Follk,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes personal information (as defined below) in connection with our websites we own and operate that link to this Privacy Policy (the “Sites”), our mobile application (the “App”) and the related content, platform, services, products, and other functionality offered on or through our online services (collectively, the “Services”).
We built the Follk App as a free app. This App is provided by Follk at no cost and is intended for use as is.
If you choose to use our Services, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The “Personal Information” that we collect is used for providing and improving the Services. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. We will not sell your information.
This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decides to use our Services.
Information Collection and Use
For a better experience, while using our Services, we may require you to provide us with certain information, including but not limited to the following. The information that we request will be retained by us and used as described in this privacy policy.
- Account Registration and Profile Information. We may collect personal and/or business information that you provide when you register for an account to use our Services. This may include your name, and phone number. Once you create an account, you may also be able to create a profile that may be visible to other users on the Services. You may personalize your profile by including additional information about yourself and uploading a profile picture and a cover picture. We use this information to administer your account, provide you with the relevant services and information, communicate with you regarding your account, the Services, and for customer support purposes.
- Inquiries and Other Communications. If you communicate with us through any form, we may collect your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, or any other personal information you choose to provide to us. We use this information to investigate and respond to your inquiries, and to communicate with you, to enhance the services we offer to our users and to manage and grow our organization.
- User Content. You may upload or transmit data or information through your communications with us, your communications with other users, or your use of the Services (collectively, “User Content”). For instance, you may post "Posts”, messages, or comments, as well as share “Perspectives” that are shown publicly. User Content and any information contained in the User Content, including personal information you may have included, is stored and collected as part of the Services. We use the User Content to fulfill the reason why it was provided (i.e., post your posts, messages, or comments or share your Perspectives), and to operate, improve, personalize, and optimize the Services.
- Location Data. You may choose to upload or transmit data or information through your communications with us, your communications with other users, or your use of the Services that includes your location. To determine which “Spaces” and Posts are available to you, your “Area” must be determined, meaning that your device will transmit general information about your location (city, county, state, and country; or equivalent). When submitting a Post, the specific latitude, longitude, and altitude coordinates of your post will be transmitted and stored for precise Post placement. Specific coordinates are not collected via background processes and are only collected when required to provide requested services.
Log Data
We want to inform you that whenever you use our Services, for certain events, including errors, we collect data and information on your phone called “Log Data”. This Log Data may include information such as your device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Services, the time, timezone, and date of your use of the Services, and other statistics.
Service Providers
We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:
- To facilitate our Service;
- To provide the Services on our behalf;
- To perform Service-related services; or
- To assist us in analyzing how our Services is used.
We want to inform users that these third parties may have access to their Personal Information. The reason is to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.
Security
We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

This Services may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
Children’s Privacy
We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. We encourage all children to never submit any personally identifiable information through the App and/or Services. We encourage parents and legal guardians to monitor their children's Internet usage and to help enforce this Policy by instructing their children never to provide personally identifiable information through the App and/or Services without their permission. If you have reason to believe that a child has provided personally identifiable information to us through the App and/or Services, please contact us. You must also be at least 16 years of age to consent to the processing of your personally identifiable information in your country (in some countries we may allow your parent or guardian to do so on your behalf).
Our Use of Personal Information
We use personal information we collect to:
- Fulfill or meet the reason the information was provided, such as to deliver the Services
- Manage our business and its day-to-day operations
- To provide you with the Services, including by displaying content to you that is relevant to your Area
- Test, enhance, update and monitor the Services, or diagnose or fix technology problems
- Identify and analyze how individuals use our Services
- Conduct research and analytics on our customer and user base and our Services
- Improve and customize our Services to address the needs and interests of our user base and other individuals we interact with
- Help maintain the safety, security and integrity of our property and Services, technology assets and business
- To fulfill or enforce our legal or contractual obligations and requirements to resolve disputes, to carry out our obligations and enforce our rights, and to protect our business interests and the interests and rights of third parties

Future Use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
We continuously strive to improve our services and user experience. As part of our commitment to innovation, we may, in the future, implement Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) technologies. These advancements will be aimed at enhancing our service offerings, providing personalized experiences, and improving operational efficiency.
We commit to maintaining transparency about our use of these technologies. Should we start using AI and ML, we will update our practices accordingly in this Privacy Policy. Any future use of user data for AI and ML will adhere to our strict privacy and data protection standards and will comply with applicable laws and regulations. Users will be notified of any significant changes and will have the opportunity to review and consent to these changes as required by law.

Our Services may allow you to connect and interact with others. Your profile information, including your name, and other personal information and/or information about your business, will be available publicly to other members of the Services by default when you create a profile and interact with others on the Services.
We disclose personal information in the following ways:
- Affiliates. We may share personal information with other companies owned or controlled by Follk and other companies owned by or under common ownership as Follk, which also includes our subsidiaries (i.e., any organization we own or control) or our ultimate holding company (i.e., any organization that owns or controls us) and any subsidiaries it owns, particularly when we collaborate in providing the Services.
- Service Providers: In addition to the third parties identified above, we engage other third-party service providers that perform business or operational services for us or on our behalf, such as website hosting, infrastructure provisioning, IT services, analytics services, and administrative services. We partner with Digital Ocean to provide certain services. You can read more about their privacy practices at https://www.digitalocean.com/trust.
- Legal Obligations and Rights: We may disclose personal information to third parties, such as legal advisors and law enforcement:
- in connection with the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims;
- to comply with laws or to respond to lawful requests and legal process;
- to protect our rights and property and the rights and property of others, including to enforce our agreements and policies;
- to detect, suppress, or prevent fraud;
- to protect the health and safety of us and others; or
- as otherwise required by applicable law.
- With Your Consent: We may disclose personal information about an individual to certain other third parties or publicly with their consent or direction.
Control Over Your Information
You may control your information in the following ways:
- Access to Your Device Information. You may control the Service’s access to your device information through your “Settings” app on your device. For instance, you can withdraw permission for the Services to access your network devices and geolocation. Doing so may disable certain functionality of the Services.
- Push Notifications. You can stop receiving push notifications from us by changing your preferences in the app settings, or the iOS notifications settings menu.
- Modifying or Deleting Your Information. If you have any questions about reviewing, modifying, or deleting your information, you can contact us directly at data@follk.app.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update or modify our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. Continued use of our services after any such changes will constitute user acknowledgment and acceptance of the updated practices.
