Introduction

Follk exists to foster connection and trust by helping people share what's happening in the places around them. Some of what others share you'll love; some might make you uncomfortable, confused, annoyed, or angry. We want to equip you with tools to filter out what you don't care to interact with. For the most part, we're not interested in being the arbiter of what you can and can't post, and we'd rather hand that power to you wherever it's reasonable. That means you take on some responsibility for protecting yourself and others here.

How Follk Works

A quick note on how Follk works, because it shapes what we can and can't do. Some of what you see lives entirely on Follk — your Sights, your comments, and the rest of your Follk activity. The rest reaches you over the AT Protocol from the wider Bluesky network. We moderate Follk-native content directly. Content from the broader network we can filter and report to the services that moderate it, but it lives on an open network we don't solely control, so it's also governed by those services' rules and labels. When you post to Bluesky through Follk, you're posting to that open network; when you post a Sight, you're posting to Follk.

Rules

So here are a few ground rules to keep things in order.
